AH&LA releases industry principles to combat human trafficking

The association that represents the US’s accommodation sector has published a set of principles for the industry designed to raise awareness of issues around human trafficking.

1: Employees will be educated to “recognize and report instances of trafficking when perpetrated or attempted in or around hotel properties”

2: Hotels are encouraged to establish policies and procedures for reporting of instances or suspected instances of trafficking;

3: They are also urged to “Work collaboratively with law enforcement and policymakers so that industry and government initiatives can be appropriately and efficiently integrated into a society-wide effort to combat trafficking.”
